Commissions
Raluca accepts commissions, with no fixed limit on size. The work is made for one wall, in one room, with the light that room actually gets — and it exists once, like everything else.
01
The size you have in mind, the colours you lean towards, and — if you like — photos of the space and one or two of Raluca’s existing works that speak to you.
02
A call or a studio visit. Raluca will tell you honestly whether a commission is the right answer, or whether an existing work already fits. Once the size, palette and general direction are agreed, a 30% deposit confirms the commission.
03
Usually three to six weeks, depending on the work — that includes every stage of layering and the drying time needed before the final varnish. You get photographs as the layers build up — not a silent wait.
04
Finished with a matte varnish, framed in cedar, wired, signed on the reverse, with a certificate naming the work, the year and you as the first owner.
In the studio
A minute with Raluca in the studio — mixing colour, building the layers, stepping back and going in again. It is the same process every commission goes through.
Each painting is developed by intuition rather than from a sketch, which is why you receive photographs as the layers build up.
Scale
A commission is drawn up around real measurements rather than a standard canvas size. Height, width and format are agreed with you before the first layer goes on.
That way the painting sits in proportion with the wall, the furniture beneath it and the distance it will be seen from.
Recent works
A few recent canvases, framed and finished. A commission goes through exactly the same process — only the starting point is your wall.
Good to know
The works you point to help Raluca understand what draws you in. They guide the direction — they are not a template.
Raluca does not reproduce existing paintings or make close variations of them. Every commission is a new, unique work.
Once size, palette and direction are agreed, the composition, texture, materials and details develop as she paints.
A 30% deposit confirms the commission. Allow three to six weeks, including drying time before the final varnish.
The size
Width and height you have in mind — or of the wall itself. There is no fixed limit.
Works you like
One or more of Raluca’s existing paintings you are drawn to. They show her what attracts you.
The space
Photos of the room where the work will hang — optional, but always useful.
The palette
Warm, neutral, colourful — or the colours already in the room.
The timing
When you need it on the wall.
The budget
A range is enough. It decides the size more than anything else.
No form to fill in. Write as little or as much as you like — a photo of the wall is worth more than a paragraph.
